selling one's love
WRT selling one's love...BTDT more than once.
I've hung on to cars far longer than I should have...in fact I kept my last
P&J (pride and joy for the TLA-challenged) for 9 years...long enough for my
wife to assume that I'd *always* have this particular car...she put up
quite a stink when I announced I was selling it... "It works fine...blah
blah blah..."
The car had become too much of a fixture at our house, so when I proposed
spending $$$ on a new(er) car, it was a problem.
So that's one issue.
Another is that when you do sell your P&J, you usually get to upgrade to a
newer, better, faster, kewler automotive work of art.
So it's not all bad, right.
Just don't ever look back. Once you've sold your car, *never* purposely see
it again. You won't be happy...the new owner will have hung fuzzy dice from
the roll cage, or put white wall tahrs on, or won't have washed it...or
something...remember, she's not yours anymore, and you have to let go. Er,
I mean, *it's* not yours :)
Personally, I think I've swung a bit too far the other way. I look at my
current ride (the Rover) as a 3 year *rental*. I've owned it since October
and have washed it twice. Haven't vacuumed it yet, and actually park
*between* other cars! Yikes!
