Signaling

Am I to understand that whenever one changes lanes on a road that it is
necessary to signal?

Certainly some reasonable allowance should me made to permit application of
some judgement on the part of the driver, don'tcha think?

How about when you are the only car on the road within a half mile or so?
C'mon now. Incidentally, much of my driving is in extremely light traffic.

What if you aren't within 100 yards or more of other traffic? OK, but
hardly necessary.

How 'bout when you're in heavy traffic with other vehicles within close
proximity? Certainly.

Is it *really* necessary to signal a turn when there isn't another vehicle
within sight? Who are you signaling to? Who will observe and understand
your signal? Who will be perplexed by your failing to signal?

Does a tree falling in the woods when no one is there to hear really make a
sound?

What happens to the light inside the refrigerator when the door shuts?

What is the sound of one hand clapping?

Does anyone really care?

Rant mode off...
