Actualy, Audi builds the A8 bodies in Neckarsulm, using castings and
extrusions supplied by Alcoa from the Soest Plant. The Soest plant is
exclusively an Alcoa facility, not jointly operated with anybody. In fact,
Alcoa is soliciting other customers for production from its Soest facility.

In Soest, Alcoa manufactures the die cast nodes used in the A8 body. They
also perform value-added oprations on the raw extrusions produced by an
affiliated plant nearby. Extrusions and nodes are shipped to Audi in
Neckarsulm where they are welded together into the Space Frame. Audi produces
- in Neckarsulm - most of the sheet metal stampings which form the skin and
closure panels. To say that the bodies are built by anybody but Audi, and
anywhere but in Neckarsulm, just ain't so.
