Very well said.  That's a very similar strategy to the one I adopted seven
years ago and it works well.  Especially the dictum "Never put yourself in
a position where the other guy has to DO something to avoid killing you".

Since I adopted this, I get places quicker. I think it's because I no
longer crowd or flash to get left lane bandits out of the way - the
reactions are too varied and too often dangerous.  Because I encourage no
reactions, I never have to deal with some fool riding my bumper with
brights on, or trying to find an opportunity to cut me off, or blocking the
lane in retaliation.  It works. Invisible. I like it.
