Re: OE audio interfacing

I just called AAMP and they will not have the adapter for at least 6
months. I talked to Gordie. I guess we will all have to just gat a
nose bleed and pay the $800 the dealer wants for the Alpine unit.

I hope owning an Audi isn't all like this.

In reading a recent consumer electronic trade magazine, I found an articl=
e
that describes interfacing products for OE car audio systems. I=92m not c=
ertain
if this information has made it to the list or not...if so, I apologize f=
or
the WOB, if not here it is:

To add an Alpine CD changer to =9196 & =9197 A4 and A6 OE stereos, contac=
t AAMP @
(800) 477-2267...they make the required interface cable accoring to this
article.

To add a new head unit to an existing Bose amplifier/speaker systems in a=
ll
models from =9188 - =9192, contact Soundgate @ (800) 760-4707...they make=
 the
required interface cable according to this article.

I know nothing about either of these companies as I have not worked full-=
time
in the CE industry for over 3 years now. I am not even sure if they will =
deal
direct with consumers, but if not, I=92m sure there enough of us on the l=
ist
involved in the CE industry to obtain these products. I have no interest =
in
this as it is unlikely that I will own a q this new anytime soon...but
thought that I should pass it along. HTH
