[AUDI] 4k owners?
Hello all. I just want to take a minute and say I just joined the list. I
am wondering who else out there has a 4k and loves it as much as I love mine?
I have a 1986 Audi 4000s (no quattro, frown), silver w/ black trim. I have
tinted it all the way around very dark. I have lowered it about an inch.
I have put 15" wheels with 205/50's on them, the offset on the wheels
sticks the tires where they were meant to be, even with the wheel well. I
have cut the shifter and re-threaded and put a polished T-bar shifter on
it. I have installed Momo pedals. I have hard wired my Radar to the fuse
box with no visible wires. I have wired my garage door opener to a push
button switch located directly above the window switches (looks stock!) I
have vinyl covered a piece of plywood cut perfectly to fit in the trunk
eliminating the awkward support beams. Underneath this lies a full size
spare which fits perfectly in the space between the two support beams (this
does eliminate some space, but makes a nice flat surface in the trunk,
looks real professional). Now for stereo. Pioneer in dash CD, Pioneer
304, Pioneer 502, Pioneer 3 1/2s in the dash, Pioneer 4x10s in rear deck,
and Pioneer 12 in the trunk.
Now for performance (the lacking department). I have removed the
restrictive two part exhaust system and put a very high flow exhaust with a
two tip chrome split. I have also installed a K&N filtercharger. That is
about it. This is my problem, what else can I do other than aftermarket
turbo (which I would like to do if I had the money)?
Needless to say the car looks fantastic and gets up and moves much better
than without the exhaust. Trade off, it is loud as can be. I am young,
19, so this does not bother me. Some may think a bit much, the performance
it gives me makes up for it.
Also, what suspension kits to 4k owners reccommend? I need to do something
about my body roll.
Sorry for the long post, it is just my introduction and I will not do this
anymore. I am just excited to be on the list with other 4k owners! So
what do you all think? I will have to get a pic on my web page of it, it
looks pretty nice.
