RE: Mod Squad



The 268 cam is actually a really nice camshaft. I was able to play
around with powerband
using a cam timing gear to redirect some of the torgue back down
somewhat. My application
is in a 1.8l VW motor with the old style 5-speed box which has some
pretty tall ratios.
 The flat spot for me seems to be 3000 -3500 rpm. It is funny, I can
pull a hill in 5th gear at 2500 rpm very smoothly but between 3000 -
3500 I will have to down shift. The sweet spot is 4500 rpm clear past
7000 rpm.
