First off, since you are putting a K & N in you problably don't want to
half-way mutilate it by installing it.... I would recomend pulling the
right headlight out so you have a "straight shot" at the air box.

1) Remove the grille and the painted trim piece above the
bumper, 6-screws in all. This leaves access to the headlight mounts.

2) Remove headlight (4- screws) and you have access to the airbox.

3) In the engine compartment: Loosen the clamp which holds the intake
air boot (big rubber bellows thing) to the airflow sensor housing. With
this loosened you can pull the boot off the housing which in turns allows
the upper lid of the airbox(airflow sensor and all) to be lifted up a few
inches.

4)You also need to remove the panel which routes a 90 degree rubber
hose into the air intake duct. This is held in with 2 screws and is
immediately to the left of the airbox(against front upper support).

5)Undo the clips on the airbox, lift the cover up and push it towards the
fender and you should be able to finagle the filter in without contorting
it in god-awful ways....

You really can't push the cover/fuel distributor around enough to risk
damaging the fuel lines but as always YMMV.

Reassemble in reverse order....
