Huh?  The A4 2.8 should idle smooth as silk at 700rpm.  There should
be hardly any vibration.  Yes, you know that the engine is running,
but there is not much more than that.

If your A4 doesn't idle smoothly you have a problem.

The 2.8 V6 does have an interesting characteristic resonance at 1450rpm.
If you can hold the rpm there you'll feel it, but that, again, is not at
all severe.  Heck, both my other Audis produce more vibration that that --
at any rpm!
