Bomb proof Audi

The chairman of the Deutsche Bank was killed by the Red Army Faction on his way 
to work one morning.  He drove past what he thought was an innocent bicycle but 
it turned out the frame had been packed with plastic explosive.  These 
armoured 600SELs became quite popular after that.
 
You may remember, in the very early 1980s, the US garrison commander's car was 
hit by a rocket near Wiesbaden.  It penetrated the car just behind the rear 
door and exploded in the trunk - he survived without major injury because the 
car had been armoured.
