I have a 87 5kSQ with 150k. I am back with several problems I need advise
on.
1)Combination switch(turn signal)...

Dead easy.
3)Ohdometer has stopped working. Is this easy to replace and how?
Fixed mine this last weekend.
1. Remove steering wheel (1 nut)
2. Remove instrument cluster (2 screws)
3. Remove the back of the cluster from the housing (bunch of little screws)
4. Remove speedo (4 bolts)
5. See the little gear on the trip odo shaft? Isn't connecting with the worm
gear, is it? Press it back on the shaft, dab a LITTLE bit of wiz-bang
epoxy on the end of the shaft and gear. (I used JB Kwik Weld, steel filled)
6. Reverse assemble.
7. All your lamps working? Now's your chance...
8. In future, reset trip odo ONLY when stationary.
Sounds more involved than it really is. An hour or two, with appropriate
beverages and frame of mind.
It has been suggested on this list to abrade the odo shaft before applying
adhesive. Looking at the number of little bits in that speedometer, I decided
I didn't want to dissasemble my daily driver THAT far. Besides, I couldn't
get the speedo needle off.
