That happened to me not so long ago.  I think the workshop where I sent the 
car to get the timimng belt done didn't use new loctite (or maybe they 
forgot to multiply the torque figure by the correct amount).  After a couple 
of years the bolt worked loose and the locating key on the crank gear was 
ground up.  Slightly more worrying than that was that the locating notch on 
the end of the crank got a bit worn.

I now do my own timing belt replacements.  As soon as it gets warm and sunny 
again, I'm going to do both cars (with the help of tool 2084 - well worth 
the money).
