Thought I'd add my experience with Mustangs...they aren't that fast.
In the wee hours of the morning, I raced a '97 GT in my 1990 Audi 90quattro20v
We started at a dead stop from a stop light, and when it was all over, I
was far enough ahead to flash my rear fog light at a "no longer proud" blue
oval owner.
To be honest, I wasn't real interested in getting the time of day from him. I
think the chirp from his tires as the light turn green indicated his intent.
This was in a straight line...throw a curve into the picture, and any "proud
blue oval owner" will lose his/her lunch.
I've played with plenty of the 'stangs and never been impressed. Fords are
notorius for having no brakes, and about the worst handling you can find.
I just love that real stable feeling you get when you hit a bump in the road.
Nothing better than a little axle hop to instill confidence in your ride.
Note that even the Cobra still has the solid rear axle. No use in carrying
around all that horsepower, if the only time you can use it is in a straight
line.
You can claim that you were browsing the list "for some unknown reason."
We all know that you just returned from getting your *ss whooped by a Quattro,
and were trying to figure out a way to get your hands on one.
Regards,
John
