Also without them you can forget passing the annual inspection.
I install splash guards an all my cars, in all four corners coz I am not
only used to it (and IMHO a car without them looks, um... barefooted, so
to speak), but also in order to protect the rocker panels from that
ubiquitous road tar and stone chips.
I also view it as a courtesy towards other drivers: in the rain I don't
generate a cloud of mist behind me.
