No, I didn't. The wires were adequate guage. The typical place for
problems is the connectors at the headlamps themselves, and I've got about
40 hours of night driving on them with no signs of distress. Several
periods of at least 30 minutes with constant high beams (drove all night
through rural areas). I was concerned about this, too. Particularly since
the A6 headlamp assemblies have that weather tight gasketed rear cover that
seals off the wiring and backs of the bulbs. I thought heat would build up
in there.

It is worth pointing out that these were ideal conditions to avoid heat
buildup (low air temps and highway speeds). A 105 degree day in Phoenix
with the high beams on while parked would increase the heat buildup,
obviously.I drove in city conditions in LA for hours in 70 degree temps as
well (I am one of those safety nuts who drives day and night with headlamps
on).
