RE: A4 whine at speed and remote locking

I have the same whine. But mine happens at about 45-55 mph. I had the
same thing in my 91 Honda. I'm not sure what makes this sound, however, I
put 50K miles on my Honda and never had a problem. Think of it as a jet
engine turbine that you hear. That should make you feel better. Or, just
drive 85-90 miles per hour all the time. :) Try explain that to the
officer.

You didn't mention whether your A4 was a Quattro and or a 5 speed manual.
My A4 and old Honda were both a 5 speed. Just wondering if it has an
reverence to the problem.

Remote Locks? I suggest you search the archives. There has been a lot of
discussion about this problem. You will find that you are not alone. I
don't recall if there was a fix but you will find an abundant amount of
postings in the archives. You can also go the Jets BBS:
http://www.denver.net/~jet/a4.html I believe that there was also some
postings about the remote entry anomaly.

Hope this helps.
