It is good to see not only Audi lovers but Mustang haters. In my opinion
this is a greater hatred of Ford in general. Has anyone looked at the '97
line-up? I understand futuristic, but Ford, this isn't futuristic, just
UGLY. Let's start with the Mustang, the "performance" car. The GT, I have
a friend with a Dodge Neon that eats them up, need I say more. OK, the 4.6
Cobra, a little faster but still can't hang with Chevy. Let's assume for a
minute that the car could, it is so damn ugly! I would rather have an old
body style Stang. Both new and old are blunt objects but at least the old
one had a little character. OK, let's move on to the Taurus. Who was
smoking crack in the design department? First, it is oval after oval (does
anyone know why this is?). Second, it is so defective it should have never
been built. Ford, don't deny the windshield. I know 8 people who have
them as company cars who all have had the winshield replaced because of
noise. In addition, every handle or button feels like it is going to break
after several uses. Contour and Escort, smaller and still smaller version
of the Taurus. Windstar, actually not to bad looking, to bad you can't
compete with Dodge. The F series truck?! Tried so hard to be innovative
like Dodge and steal Chevy's third door. Now, let's move on to Ford's NEW
engines. Has everybody seen the magazine ads? 2 new V8s and a V10. To
bad they are all within 10 HP of each other. The V10 is weak compared to
the Dodge engine.
Back to the Mustang's real quick. I think I counted 8 Mustang performance
magazines at the store the other day. All with titles like "The Mustang
that Ford SHOULD have built", well they didn't! I have a friend with a '70
Chevelle LS6 (stock wheels, everything) that will blow any blown, bored,
whatever Mustang you throw at it. I know because I have ridden with him
while we destroy Saleens, Cobras, BOSS.
I bet I pissed some people off, oh well, I hate FORD. I love Audi though
so keep that in mind.
