What part of CA do you speak??? Here in the SF Bay Area I see what appear to
be some of the highest used Audi (talking quattros here, I don't pay
attention to prices on the rest) prices around...this based on looking
through AutoTrader On-Line and E-Page classifieds, and seeing what listers in
other parts of the country post cars for sale. Used quattros around here are
scarce, but I see people driving them every day so they are not un-common. I
was once told (years ago) by a reliable source that the SF Bay Area had more
quattro sales than any other non-snow region in the country (supposedly the
Boulder/Denver areas were the highest sales areas back then). KBB costs out
with variations by state. I will take a closer look at various blue book
prices by state to see what the variations by state really are next time I am
checking out pricing at kbb.com. That '91 tq wagon was a killer deal...though
I saw a black one like it in Monterey (same dealer I bought my 87 tqw from
back in 1990...19.5k$$$ with 20k miles...damm I miss that car!!!) about 2
years ago...priced around 20k$$$ with less than 30k miles-it sold super quick
too.

In the Los Angeles area cars in general go for less than in Northern CA. as
they are typicaly "ridden hard and put away wet" and worn out by the LA
freeway system, heat, and traffic jams. Aside from that, car prices in CA.
are lower in rural areas with the SF Bay Area having generaly higher
prices-new or used. It's a big state so price variations happen within CA. I
will pass along any "killer deals" I see to the list, as I too wish to see
these cars in the capable hands of enthusiasts who truly appreceate them...I
know I'd rather buy a used q from an enthusiast who took care of it and drove
it hard, than someone who drove it gently but didn't care for it either. My
usualy wordy .02 worth.
