I have actually once driven from Boston MA to Portsmouth NH in the rightmost
lane of 3 or 4 on route 95 at 100 mph the entire way. no one else wanted it
! And the the radar protection over there is superb.
The only drag with performing a "reverse passing maneouvre" is that the tail
gater often winds up going *slower* once they are in front. They aren't
trying to go faster than you, they just have no clue about appropriate
following distances. What really bugs them is when you leave enough space
in front of you for *both* cars to brake in an emergency. What else can you
do?
