Some years ago, when I drove an old clapped-out Opel Kadett, I added some
of the marvel engine treatment stuff (forgot the name) to the oil and some
Teflon-based gunk to the gearbox. I was most impressed by the gearbox
stuff; no more grauching gearchanges, slick action even when it was cold.
The engine treatment was OK, but not as noticeable... less lifter rattle,
somewhat smoother running engine and it used less oil. No increased
mileage, or more power. Still, I guess the engine was too clapped-out for
the treatment, really.
When I sold it, the car had about 200K km on it (an absolute miracle for a
1.6S OHC Opel block) and it still ran fine. Had it up to 170 km/h the day
before I sold it (it would have gone faster, but I was not going to blow it
up just before selling it).
I would recommend the stuff for cars that only do short trips. My car
doesn't need it (does at least 150km every day).

My Dfl .02

Tom.
