Actually, from what I understand 2,500 miles for 1 qt oil consumption isn't
all that unusual for the 2.8 A4 and would probably be within specs.  How many
miles do you have on the car?  Do you drive mostly city or highway?  City
driving will usually be more.  Now if you had a 325 WMB, you might be adding
1 qt very 500 -1000 miles, and the dealer would tell you "That's just the way
they are," unless things have changed alot recently.
