Those switches are sneaky. Dave Head (dhead@sundial.sundial.net) took my old
one, cut it open, and repaired it. He now keeps it in his trunk as a spare. 
If you are interesting in fixing your switch, perhaps you should directly
e-mail him and ask him for a procedure.
