? on Fuel Additive and MPG of '86 CGT
Hi all,
Went over entire history(all documentation/notes/receipts) of my '86
Coupe GT and found that a heck of a lot of money was spent on Techron, a
fuel additive with which I'm sure most all are familiar. I don't want to
start another thread since I'm sure it's been done before, but I've
learned a lot through the recent oil threads and will change some of my
proceedures and products due to this. With that said, what is the
general opinion held by the list on Techron? On BG 44K and BG
Supercharger? I am a believer in both, especially the expensive BG
44K($16) stuff - I only used it once, but . . .Wow.
As I have previously stated, my MPG computer is failing. Last week I
filled up w/ 15.344 gals.(capacity of tank is 15.9 gallons), odo. read
107,025. At the end of tank odo. read 107,354. THEREFORE
329/15.344=21.44 MPG. Right, about right! BUT, my computer on my digital
dash(which BTW, Jon Monetti, is $886.88/transmitter is $18.26) reads
11.5 MPG at end. THUS, a difference of (21.44(actual) - 11.5(comp.
reading))=9.94. SO IN SUMMARY my computer is off by 10 MPG. What can be
done? Is there a switch on the back of the cluster like recently
mentioned for +/- 10 or is it simply a bad OXS(replaced over 100K miles
ago!) or bad something else?
TIA! Allan
