Re: SORRY

     That's OK, Greg.

I don't believe I called anyone "stupid." I used the word "ignorant,"
and I did not apply it to any specific person. In my opinion, there
is nothing wrong with being ignorant. "Ignorant" just means that one
does not know or understand something. We are all ignorant of
something, since nobody knows everything. Ignorance from people who
represent themselves as being knowledgeable in some area does upset me
though. I think a "mechanical engineer" should have a command of
basic statics principles. This is probably what started me off in a
bad mood. I should not have let this mood flow into my comments
though. I apologize to anyone on this list whom I may have offended.

On the topic on which we disagree, using torque wrenches with offset
torque adapters, I think I stated my position as clearly as possible.
I am not a teacher, and I am probably not the greatest at conveying
thoughts, ideas, etc. to others. We are also further handicapped by
our means of communication. If I were sitting down with a person,
perhaps I could sketch something to illustrate my point.

I still stand by my original analysis of the topic, and I would be willing to
discuss it further in an open and positive manner. I enjoy discussing technical
ideas, and would like to do so if you (or anyone) can reference specific things
I said, and tell me specifically why this is wrong. Only then can I offer a
counter argument to defend my position. If you would simply like to agree to
disagree over this, that's fine too. After all, my involvement in this
discussion began with my getting frustrated over reading about this for too
long.

I ask the group's indulgence over this somewhat off-Audi topic, but in light of
the posting that has been done at length about cats and dogs on this list, I
don't feel that my comments can be taken as too irrelevant to the mission of
this group.

Humbly yours,

Chris

Chris:

I would like to publicly say Im sorry about some of my comments to
you. Its just that when I hear words like stupid, ignorant and so on, I
get really irrate.

Still think you are wrong, however. :)

But lets talk Audi's.
