ur-quattro 20V diagnostic code procedure
In reponse to a "cri de coeur" from a list member, I dug out the description of
dumping the ECU codes on a 20V ur-quattro.
AAAARGH!
Right. Assuming you don't want to buy a VAG 1551 (which looks a _neat_ bit of
kit) there _is_ a documented "Notloesung" - "emergency procedure". I'm
prepared to have a crack at translating and ASCII-arting the basics, but it's
37(!) pages of documentation.
Question - it can't be _that_ different from other 20V engines of the same
period. Does anyone have a writeup of a 20V code dumping procedure using the 6-
pole diagnostic plug in the driver's footwell, the VAG diode test lamp, and a
jumper?
Also, to make it even more useful, could someone post the instructions for
making such a diode test probe? I'm sure I've seen them in an Audi
publication, or possibly a Bentley.
