I own an '86 Coupe GT and I can tell you that you have to go up from
underneath for the fronts. I myself have not done it but I know my car
stereo/alarm guy did have to rip both sides of the dash apart to pull
them out from the bottom. As far as the rear speakers, if they are the
same, or at least similar, as mine, the grill unscrews and you then have
access from both the top and the bottom and the rest I believe is
self-explanatory. The stock radio has been gone from my CGT for so long
that I don't even remember what it looks like, never mind how to remove
it. I think you have to remove the center panel, but not sure.
I hope what little info I've given you can be added to advice from
other listers to help you achieve success in your project.
