re; oil, 11th chapter

Avi's exactly right. In fact, early-morning puffs or clouds
are signs of oil seeping down through the valve guides,
past stem seals (ok, ok, not in that order), and into the cylinders,
where it burns off -- but then basically vanishes. Rings would
be indicated by constantly burning oil; worse under load.

So my point is watch out every morning on start-up, for the
lawnmower syndrome.
