Sitings.
Hey guys,
I've been a lurker for some time on this list. I'm in love with the new
A4, especially the yellow ABT one in one of the Eurpoean magazines. Anyhow,
let me get to the point: yesterday I was driving around late at night in
my 89 944 Turbo after having a hard day; we have this really long hill
on a stretch of highway that's very steep (uphill). A lot of guys test
their cars up this long hill because it really gives you a chance to let
her rip. Well, here I am in the middle lane of three lanes and I see these
four headlights behind me getting closer and closer and closer. The two cars
were right behind each other just flying. Right as they came upon me, they
seperated into the two lanes around me, one to the left, one to the right.
Here's a datapoint before I go into more detail, if your car can hit 200km/h
up this hill starting at speed limit (~80km/h) at the bottom, you've got
a fast car. These two cars were Audi Turbos (I think one was a 5000 Turbo
and the other was a 100[?] or something like that). They just blew past
like I was sitting there. What kind of surprised me was that both cars
smelt really rich and at that very time, I was doing about 140km/h. The
speed that they came by at would mean they were likely doing close to
180-200km/h. From the looks of it I would say they had a pretty good
start from before the bottom with the speed they had near the middle.
It was just cool to see two sedans hauling some serious speed up this hill
and both drivers were obviously decent drivers as they did not make fast
steering movements or anything stupid like that. It was interesting.
This is in B.C. Canada BTW.
