Might try that one. Last time (4 years ago) the officer asked me what
speed I was doing, shortly after the usual smart remark about the
location of a fire. I replied that I was unable to say as I was
concentrating on the road etc. and not my speedo. He didn't appreciate
that one. Nor did he appreciate that I seemed relieved when he booked
me for 85 kph in a 60kph zone. I was expecting more like 100kph.
Perhaps being honest then would be counter-productive.
