Re: Reliable British Cars
My first car was a 1969 British Racing Green MGB. (This was in 1976,
when I was 17.) It was truly a wonderful car-- cured me of imports for
years.
The most reliable thing about it was the Lucas electricals. One
beautiful top-down day about 6 months after getting the car, I noticed a
sudden _loud_ grinding noise. Shutting the engine down was too late.
Had to park on hills over a month to earn enough money to replace the
starter, which I assume was Lucas, POD. Clutch never did die...
Audi content: never heard of this _particular_ problem on an Audi.
(Should this tempt the Gods of the Linked Rings?)
