I know there was a recall for the cruise control on 90 V8s.
What was the nature of it? Did you have problems holding a certain

Nope. But you can check with any Audi dealer to see whether the recall's
been done. I believe they replaced an actuator rod of some sort. Mine
worked fine before and fine now.
<<Also, has anyone heard about using the splugs spec'd for the new A8s
in older V8s? The audi dealer says the plugs recommended now for V8Qs by
Audi are "Beru"s and not the bosch plugs that were originally spec'd.>>
I just sent an E-mail to a fellow q-lister regarding this yesterday. Will
let you know as soon as I find out.
<<What kind of oil is being used in these cars? Manual says
capacity is 10 quarts but I heard Audi changed that to 8.5; does that
affect dipstick reading? 9-10 quarts of synth. oil and $20 filters make
for pricey oil changes. In my 5KS I have used Castrol dino every 3K
miles for 105k with zero problems.

I'm not going to touch that one! Except to say 8.5-9 qts is about right,
including that monster filter. Regular oil changes with your favorite
"ahem" brew are more important. My oil temp never gets very warm and the
engine is designed so well, with its twist-forged crank and oil-cooled
pistons that a good name brand should do quite nicely, whether Dino or
Synthetic. If you live in northern climes, I'd opt for synthetic.
