I have a '95 S-6 Sedan that was imported in very late '95 as a part of
the last 300 S-6. This shipment was only to dealers who had orders in
hand and was quite restricted...I ordered mine in June and it arrived
the last week in November.. ... I have always belived that this lot was
the so called "95.5" version as they were really '96s, but some dumb ass
at Audi decided not to import the S-6 in '96 so they called them '95s.
I know that the S-6 would not have met the clean air rules of '97, but
why Audi jumped the gun by a year, I will never know.......
anyway.... about 300 Avant S-6 were imported in July of '95. Most were
sold before the boat arrived from Germany. For the dealer to represent
an Avant as a "95.5" is misrepensention.
BTW I live in Ann Arbor Mich, and my dealer just took a '95 S-6 Avant in
trade on a A-8. They only paid 37K for it. I bet you can get it for
39K (they say they are asking 41). ...dont remember the exact mileage
but it was well less than 10K....
the people who owned it picked up the A-8 driving in with their
Rolls....seems the Quattor was a low milage bad weather car.
The Dealer is Howard Cooper Audi of Ann Arbor Michigan..
313 - 761-3200, Ask for Billy Kruise..he is a nice guy and enjoyable to
be with, sold me my S-6. I have purchased several quattros from Howard
Cooper Audi. They really seem to be afraid of keeping Quattros in stock
and under value them in trades and sell them cheap and quick, but they
are great people. I have met Mr. Cooper several times, he is a real
gentleman from the old school.
If you call Billy say that I sent you. BTW: what were you doing when
you had that wreck? another BTW, my previous car was a '91 200 sedan,
which I loved!!!! but I must say that you will really appreciate the
refinement of the S-6. GIVE IN AND GET IT!!
