Don't feel that you are alone.  Over 100,000 people in America exhibited the
same aberant behavior at new-car purchase time.  Figure that the average car
has changed hands a few times since then, and the total probably approaches
half a million (not accounting for recidivism).

I presume you inquire about the U.S. market; so from the Department of
Obscure and Seldom-Requested Information comes this bulletin.  Note that the
data is based on calendar year sales in the U.S., not model years, and not
production.
