Doubtful that it's the CAT.  Is your car suddenly performing way below par?
 Does the Cat rattle?  I rather suspect (and most 4KQ owners will tell you)
that your emissions test pipe has rusted through.  You don't really need it
anyway, because nobody actually uses it to measure emissions.  Follow the
pipe from engine compartment (can't miss it- has light blue? cap on it) next
to intake manifold down to exhaust header where it meets cat.  I took out
pipe and unscrewed nut connecting it to header.  I don't even remember what I
put in its place, though --six years ago.  I think someone recently posted
something about this.
