Audio Upgrade for '90 200 TQW

I am in need of an improved audio system for my 200 TQW.  The OEM non Bose
system is failing to turn on with the volume/power switch and the fidelity
has always been poor.  What recommendations, preferably proven successful
installs, does anyone have?  I prefer A/D/S, Dennon , MB Quartz gear and have
the following leftovers from a previous VW Quantum Syncro:
Denon DCR 5520 Cassette Dolby B-C; ADS PQ8 4x20W; SAS Bazooka Sub.  I need at
the least new speakers all around and a CD Changer.  Are there any shop
recommendations for Wash. St. or Portland OR.
