I had this same thing happen this past summer. All indicators, i.e. being
able to load and unload the front wheel where the noise was occurring from
thereby pointing strongly toward the CV joint and not the bearing. After
having the CV replaced, the noise was still there and it turned out to be
the wheel bearing. I had to then replace the wheel bearing also. I had
even had three different mechanics drive the car and all of them thought is
was the CV. Just goes to show ya...

It's more than likely your CV joint, a bearing will always be noisy, it is
not "angle" affected. Even if you don't see a broken boot, it still can be
the CV joint....
