Yes, Dan, he *was* slick. He was also operating his vehicle illegally. He
is also subject to the same laws as anyone else when not operating in an
emergency. When he *is* operating under an emergency condition he is to be
using his bubble gum machine. I suspect that if you have a witness you
could prefer reckless driving charges upon him. You were merely speeding.
He was speeding (at least faster that you) in a car without lights.
BTW, he is also legally responsible for any third party injuries and/or
damage he may cause while operating his cruiser in such an irresponsible
manner. He is even legally responsible for damages when he is operating
under standard "emergency conditions" with his warning lights on. At least
that's the law here in the backwoods of ole West-by-God-Virginia.
