RE: A-4 :V-6 or 1.8 Turbo

I would take the A4 in a second.

Saabs tend to, in my experience having owned an 88 9000 Turbo and with
friends who have 900's, not be built as well as Audis. They have a
wonderful weirdness quotient going for them and are very functional.
What clinched not buying a 900 for us (having just decided this weekend)
was that it surprisingly doesn't score nearly as well as the A4 in crash
tests for either driver or passenger. The 2.0L turbo engine is wonderful
and the chassis is nice and tight, but it's just not enough for us.

As for the practicality, the Saab wins hands down with the hatch back
and all, but have a look at the figures: the Saab is not that big inside
(driver and passengers' space) and you can always put a roof rack on the
A4. Besides, the A4 has folding rear seats as well as a huge trunk.

Just my $.02.
