The Audi Gods have demanded much sacrifice.  They have
required that my big valve head should be cracked. Head is
off, cracks between several intake and exhaust ports are
confirmed. I had been burning a fair amount of water (a pint
per week).  Much grief and gnashing of teeth. The Good
News: my exhaust ports are clean as a whistle.

Oh, the price of power!
