I tried disconnecting my accelerometer the other day.
 
The "ABS inactive" light comes on after about ten seconds.  Switching ABS off 
and on switches the light off, but it comes back on again.  I suspect these 
5000s have got the accelerometer wiring harness, but not the controller - 
unless there's a jumper installed on the controller plug.
