Another option that I have been given is an engine and box (mine sometimes
missed 2nd) from a 2.2 5-cyl D-reg 86/7 A100.  Do you know whether this will
fit, as I have the earlier body style (76-82) with the earlier 2144cc
engine.  I am told that the later engine also responds better to tuning.  I
am guessing that this will cure all the problems I have, with rough running,
and the stem seals. (as it will include the entire injection and ignition
system. Does this model use some kind of ECU?  only mine doesn't have such a
thing.

If the transplant is possible, do you know of any complications?
