Got hit by one once.
 
I was driving into the city centre in Frankfurt, crossing the river from the 
south.  A damn great swan came hurtling upriver like the avian equivalent of 
a B1 bomber, lifted to clear the traffic and hit the streetcar wires.  It 
dropped like a rock, straight onto my car - covering the windscreen in birdcrap 
(they carry quite a lot of it about their persons, do swans) and denting the 
bonnet.  (Audi 80S).  It appeared quite unharmed, and after some huffy wing-
folding, hopped off onto the side of the road and continued on foot, swearing 
angrily to itself and scattering pedestrians in all directions.
