Orange light comes on...Help

No, it doesn't. That's what the light is saying.
To work out exactly what it means, you need to dump the error codes out of the
ECU and look them up in the tables Audi provide. This is a fiddly procedure,
but quite easy to follow if you have the instructions.
On the ur-quattro "MB" engine, there are 12 reasons why this light can come on
- on the later 20V "RR" engine, there are around 50 reasons.
I've done a version of the instructions for the "MB" engine. Perhaps someone
with access to the 86 5kcst engine documentation could modify it and post it
for you? It's probably pretty similar.
If someone would like to email me, I'll send a copy of the ur-quattro version
for use as a skeleton. It's 4.5KB, 122 lines.
