Americans aren't used to the linear throttle response of Audi's, so for
either the '94 or '95 model year, Audi made the throttle response
non-linear.
The first 1/3 or the pedal opens the throttle something like 2/3 of the
way.
This feels like it has more pickup.  I do notice in my '93 100CSQ that
it feels sluggish (well, it is!), until I get used to really mashing on
the
loud pedal!
