To quiet the lifters, try  a product called “Gunk Valve Medic“. I’ve
used it with great results. It works much better than Marvel Mystery
Oil, ATF, etc etc. Just pour it in the crank case, and within 10 minutes
the lifters will be quiet repeat as necessary (usually with oil
changes). Buy it at Pep Boys or the like.
