ripped off?!!

The driver's side door latch doesn't function anymore on my 93 100S. I
think there is a loose connection inside, because I can open it from the
outside.
I called 2 local dealers and I got quoted $230 and $260 + parts! They said
that it would take 3 hrs of labor because the door panel is hard to take
off?

Does that sound reasonable? Did anyone take the door panel off on 100/A6?
I am not going to pay $260 for that.

Any help would or referral to a reputable D.C./Md/ Northern
Va. service center would be appreciated.
