I read somewhere that the Hitachi electronic ignition systems in the early
urq's were designed to retard the spark etc. to avoid detonation when
"towing a boat up hill with the wind behind you" ie when the intercooler
is doing bugger all.

So the theory of it says you could. Just as long as it's not a caravan I
suppose.
