I don't doubt it.  The thing that worries me is WHY is it too lean. 
 Something must have changed to cause that.  If the mixture screw was loose 
and moved out a little, then it should be checked to see why it was loose. 
 Otherwise, the problem lies elsewhere - almost certainly an air leak 
somewhere.  Get sucking on those tubes (steady on there Bob!).

Yes and no.  If you have the original O-rings, and a high mileage engine, 
then they are buggers to get out.  Once you have got them out and replaced 
the O-rings, then they go in and out amazingly easily.  The old O-rings will 
be rock hard and will appear to be made of a hard plastic instead of rubber. 
 These are consumable items and need to be replaced quite often.

I use a vice grips (mole wrench) on the hex fuel connection (don't set it 
too tight) and then use a LARGE screwdriver to lever on the vice grips.  You 
can buy a special "injector removal tool", but few people bother with it.

You should notice an improvement in idle stability when all the air leaks 
have been sorted out.
