Luis: Absolutely! When I first got my 5k, it wouldn't rev up worth a sh*t ,
ran around changing plugs, cap, rotor, wires, filters, blasting areosol
cleaner in the intake, changing the air in the tires, etc. Finally took it to
my guru, for a test drive. He said, "Yep, somethings not right here", and
started checking 'timings' of everything. Static ignition, advance/retard,
and then got to camshaft. Two (or was it three?) teeth off!
Different car after that, YMMV,
