I see Phil has answered most of your questions already. Just a couple of
things to add:
>1) . . . crank bolt . . . need to remove it . . . Any tips here
>would be greatly appreciated.
Many people on the list have done it without buying 2084 (cost GBP40). I
did it by wedging a LARGE screwdriver into flywheel teeth and getting my
wife to stand on 6"extension. Then I went out and bought 2084 so I wouldn't
have to do it that way again (2084 is still sitting in my garage, nice and
new and shiny and ready to be used next month when both my timing belts need
to be replaced)!
>2) with the engine at TDC the cam timing belt gear does not seem to be
alinged
>properly. The little punch mark hole on the gear tooth does not line
>up with the head/valve cover seam, but is almost 30 degrees behind,
>just about straight up
Make sure you check the mark on the REAR (the side that faces the engine) of
the
cam gear.
>3) the idler pulley seems to be fine, put since I'm there should it be
>replaced? How is it removed
With a puller.
>/installed.
Don't try and install it with the thin bolt. It will break!
